Furbaby care

We are slowly developing a regime for our dogs as they are all slowly reaching the dotage age. My dog Fenda is nearly 15 and although she has just been to the vets to have a check up I am happy to report she is doing very well. She has a good strong heart and her eyesight is still fine. She is showing signs of maturing with slowing down with her chasing about after the wind etc.

However we are looking at ways of using herbal remedies which work on our dogs. We have been adding a few very interesting herbs to their water and food and have noticed a significant difference in their behaviour and activity levels.

A couple of days ago my dog Fenda was struggling to get upstairs because she kept loosing her balance and slipping down the steps. Since she has been on our regime she has gained her confidence at climbing stairs and is able to run about again with out any signs of struggling. Even her breathing is being helped, in the night she was coughing and unable to sleep and restless, now she sleeps really well and is able to get through the night without too much disturbance. I am a light sleeper and am aware of every move my dogs make and so it is with relief for me too that the dogs are feeling much better and their breath has improved as well.

The vet had assured me that the concerns I had with her were all age related and so there was not any real reason to be concerned. We just set about finding ways to encourage them to keep going and get fit again.

Her weight even is good. Her last weigh in was 7.7, her weight now is 7.1 and this too the vet was pleased to see. So all in all we are catching them all at the right time to make sure that they live long and happy drug free lives.

I have learned a lot in the School of Life. Life is very precious and we have to learn to love one another, knowing that we are all connected to each other.
